Selecting a jetter is about matching the entire water system to the work—not choosing the largest PSI number. Pressure, flow, hose loss, nozzle design, water capacity and pipe conditions work together.
Pressure and flow
Higher pressure helps cut roots, grease and difficult deposits. Higher flow moves loosened debris and is valuable in larger pipes, storm drains and culverts. Many contractor applications benefit from a balanced high-pressure, water-efficient configuration.
Pipe size and run length
Document your smallest and largest pipe diameters, typical run length, bends and access points. Hose diameter and length create pressure loss, so the nozzle must be sized for the complete system.
Nozzle selection
General-cleaning nozzles provide propulsion and flushing. Forward jets open blockages. Rotating and specialty nozzles target roots, grease, scale and mineral deposits. Skids and extensions help center the nozzle and prevent it from entering laterals.
Vehicle and water configuration
Consider tank size, towing capacity, payload, mounting location, reel arrangement, winterization and accessibility for service. Trailer, truck, van and skid configurations each offer different operational advantages.
